'THE SONSHINE BAGS'
During the 2025-2026 school year, starting in September 2025, we're so proud to announce a new partnership with Evoline C. West Elementary School whereby we are providing food for 40 students-in-need for the weekend. 'The Sonshine Bags' will be delivered to the school for distribution every Friday that school is in session. We are SO grateful to God and our generous donors for enabling us to provide this vital support!
5TH ANNUAL FUN RUN/WALK
The My Sonshine Foundation 5th Annual Fun Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10am-1pm; location tba. In addition to celebrating this milestone event, we will also celebrate what would have been Amari's 24th birthday! You will NOT want to miss this special occasion! THE AMARI MITCHELL DETERMINATION AWARDS
The second round of The Amari Mitchell Determination Awards will be presented on Thursday, May 21, at The Boyce L. Ansley School. We will also sponsor and serve lunch to faculty, staff, and students and their family members who are in attendance - approximately 250 total!

About the award: Amari Mitchell had fierce determination. He exemplified tenacity when faced with adversities and obstacles - and there were many. This was demonstrated in every aspect of his life. To recognize this trait, The Amari Mitchell Determination Award was created in January 2025. It honors students at The Boyce L. Ansley School, a school for current and previously homeless students, who also show fierce determination. Each recipient receives a plaque and gift card. The inaugural awards (three) were presented in spring 2025.
